With her smooth alto voice, Grace Ellen is an established artist in the North East of England. She has a wide repertoire including songs from the 'The Great American Songbook' as well as many jazz standards, with some blues, swing, and pop standards thrown in for good measure.
Her influences are many, but predominantly and unashamedly, the great ladies of Jazz - Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, and Billy Holiday, with more recent fantastic vocalists such as Astrud Gilberto, Diana Krall and Clare Teal also playing their part.
Originally trained as a classical singer, Grace changed her singing style when she realised her love for jazz was greater than her love of arias. After returning to her northern roots in 2006 she began to take her singing a step further and has been performing in various guises in the northeast music scene ever since.
